Homework:
- All students should be reading 15-20 minutes per night according to the goals they set on their reading logs. Please sign it daily. It is due at the end of this month.
- Read Theory- some students were assigned a username and password. They should be completing 2-3 quizzes each night. They may go over the questions they missed with you so that they may discuss what they were thinking when they answered each question. (This gives you a good idea about their comprehension skills as well).
- Weekly grammar- I gave them practice on pronoun case and compound sentences. Both should be review. If they do not understand it, then have them do more practice online. I provided some sites or links.
Monday- Today was a media center/make up work day. There are many students who are missing work and they were told today what they were missing. They were allowed time to work on it in class. If your child is missing something, they were told. No late work will be accepted after Friday. I will be importing grades into infinite campus this week.
Tuesday - We will be completing our first argument essay in class on Tuesday. If it is not finished, it will be homework to be turned in on Wednesday.
Wednesday- We will be answering in class questions that relate to the parts of an argument essay. This will count as a writing formative quiz based on the notes that we took in class.
Thursday- TBD based on classroom understanding of argument essays.
Friday- Reading/Grammar formative based on our weekly grammar and grade level reading passage.
